I’ll admit I seriously had my doubts… When I opened the package and saw the super fine flour mix I thought, “great, this is going to be a waste of money!”
I lined an 8×8 pan with parchment paper and spread the dough evenly. I baked it for the recommended time and when I pulled the yellow cake out of the oven I was shocked that it actually smelled amazing! I sliced the top off to make it a flat surface, and I quickly frosted (and devoured) the scraps. I couldn’t believe how much it tasted like “real” cake!!
Suddenly I was no longer ashamed to serve it at my party. I think gluten free’s “bad name” is a thing of the past. With all the product out there that has been perfected– there is no reason a glutenoid should know they’re eating something gluten free. Just smile with satisfaction at the look on their face after they’ve tasted the first bite!
Today we tried the Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix with Duncan Hines Gluten Free chocolate frosting. And we were satisfied once again!
