2 T Canola Oil
1 small onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 cup ketchup
5 T dark molasses
2 T cider vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
Heat oil over medium-high heat and add onions, cook and stir until soft.
Add garlic, chili powder and cayenne. cook about 15 seconds.
Stir in remaining ingredients, simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens. (25 minutes.)
Season with salt and pepper. Let it cool to room temperature.
Store in an airtight container for 1 week or in the freezer to 2 months.
